About
Join the Junior Ranger team for a morning of wildfire mitigation work on one of Boulder's eastern properties. To help protect our community and the landscapes we all enjoy, Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) conducts critical fuel reduction projects throughout the system, and you can be part of the effort!
Please come prepared with long pants, closed-toe shoes (boots are preferred), plenty of water, and snacks. The project will involve hand sawing, dragging slash (branches and small trees), chipping woody material, and repairing fence. Personal protective equipment, including hearing protection, eye protection, and gloves will be provided.
After the project, an OSMP Ranger will share what it's like to serve the community, respond to wildfires, and help steward the remarkable landscapes that so many of us are fortunate to call home.
