About
Make your pup proud, and Let’s Doo It! We need your support to take care of OSMP through the “DOO-ing it” campaign! An estimate of 80,000 pounds of dog waste is left behind on trails annually and is the #1 complaint in terms of dog management on OSMP. Dog waste contains nitrogen and phosphorus, which can deplete oxygen to fish and other water-based life that need to survive, along with encouraging the growth of harmful algae blooms. Please pass on the importance that leaving bags of dog waste on OSMP trail systems is considered littering and we ask that as visitors of this beautiful and special place – that you bin or pack it out by following the basic Leave No Trace ethics when recreating.
OSMP staff will place bright orange flags near any dog waste bag or dog waste near the trailhead and we are asking for your help to clean them up. Guardians who pick up after their dogs will receive “Let’s Doo It” prizes.
Please remember that OSMP Voice and Sight rules apply at both event locations: Dry Creek and Shanahan.
Drop in anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.—no registration required.
If you choose to register, you’ll receive helpful updates like event reminders, additional location details and any pertinent event messages.
